Birthday Blog Candy!!!

Hi everyone! My birthday is on 9-30 and I'd like to give someone a gift on my birthday. So I'm posting my very first blog candy. This includes two packs of rhinestone brads, one pack of gray brads( these match Going Gray ink), three rolls of fall ribbon, and a birthday stamp set from See D's. The stamp set is unmounted so you will need a clear block to use them. They are much bigger than the picture. They are shown at 60%. If you'd like a chance to win the blog candy just leave a comment to this post and share a favorite birthday memory. My favorite memory was when my two best friends came to visit me on my 40th birthday. They gave me 40 wrapped gifts one for each year. It was great! I'll have my hubby pull a winner from all who entered a comment and announce the winner on 9-30. Good luck!
**please note this will stay at the top of the blog till the winner is drawn, scroll down for new posts**

What FABULOUS blog candy!! I love See D's!! My favorite birthday memory was when I was 7 months pregnant and my hubby gave me a beautiful glider chair for me to rock the baby in. It fit me perfectly and I still use it everyday (my daughter is 2.5 years old now).
Thanks!

Karen,
This is so fun. I love blog candy! I hope you have a wonderful birthday this year. My favorite birthday was when I was 16 and I was grounded (can't remember why). Well my parents called me down from my bedroom (I was ready for bed and had rollers in my hair) I went into the kitchen and there were all my friends saying SURPRISE! What a wonderful party my parents gave me.

Happy Birthday to you.. happy birthday to you... ('k, I'll quit singing and just type!) --My fave memory: We moved around a LOT when I was younger, so it wasn't often that I had a summer birthday party as a kid- we'd be in a new place and I didn't know the kids yet, but we moved to Biloxi, MS, (from SD) in 1976- with all the bicentennial events in the area, I was able to meet other kids-- It was just a 'regular' birthday party- cake, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, and presents but much more memorable than most!!
Hope you have a great day, Karen- you deserve it!!

Happy Birthday to YOU! I hope your birthday is as sweet as the candy you are celebrating with!!!! My birthday is the 24th, my kids are more excited about it then I am. I guess that has to do with the age! My favorite memory of my birthday is when my kids TRIED (key word) to cook dinner and we had to eat it and tell them how wonderful it was. Good thing the cake turned out GREAT! (tee hee) They even made cards and in art class made some really cute projects just for me. That will always me a memory I will never forget. Thanks for brining this memory back to the surface. Thanks for a chance at this sweet birthday candy.

I HOPE YOURS IS FABULOUS!

Cool blog candy! LOVE IT!

Favorite Birthday Memory;

It would honestly have to be last year! The Big 40!
My BIL and Sister put on a very nice family dinner for me! Steaks, prawns, all the trimmings. We made a big deal of it all! The whole day was to die for! That afternoon before, my card lady friends took me to lunch. We had such a great time we got so loud at our table they closed all the doors and blocked us off from the rest of the restaraunt. Which of course just made us get louder! It just seemed like the whole day was one big celebration!

Favorite birthday memory? My favorite would have to be the year I turned 16. Being the rebelous 16 year old I was my mom was NOT going to sign for me to get my driver's permit. At the celebration (just family and a friend) she gave me a card with the signed slip inside. Totally unexpected since my Mom NEVER went back on anything she said. I was Soooo excited.

Even if I don't win the blog candy thanks for taking me down memory lane, the ride was so well worth it. :)

My favorite b-day was my 21st. Went out and celebrated with a bunch of people I worked with and we all had so much fun, then me and my dh went to my parents house and they had a family party for me there. It was a wonderful b-day. Sadly since moving away I haven't seen my family on my b-day in years, except for my dh of course.

Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!!

Hey there! :-)
My favorite bday memory is of me and my husband honeymooning in Hawaii. He took me to an awesome restaurant and we watched the sunset on the beach. We are from the arctic and being on the warm sands of Hawaii for my normally wintery cold birthday was a blessing.
Thanks for asking,
NG.

Happy Birthday to you...(singing). Hope you have a memorable day. My favorite memory is from my 16th birthday. My cousin and I both same age, took the bus and boat way up north on our own so I could visit my grandparents, and his parents cottage was across the bay. We stopped and he bought me my first little transistor radio on the way. I never got to spend time with my grandparents growing up, I was sooo excited to spend 2 weeks up north at the cottage with them. My gram gave me a beautiful birthstone and gold ring for my 16th, as with all her 11 grandchildren. I had a wonderful 2 weeks! Thanks for reading.

My favourite birthday was my 21st when I celebrated with my Mum catering for a huge crowd of about 100 in the local hall and my husband and I announced my engagement which blew everyone away. It was my best birthday yet and we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary next year. Thanks for the chance.

My favorite birthday was quite a few years ago, when a friend took me out to lunch and then to several craft stores---it was so relaxing and doing exactly what I do best---shop!
Happy Birthday!

Great candy! thanks for being generous on your special day. My favorite birthday memory is from when I turned 30. We had recently moved back East and closer to our friends and family. Most of them drove to our house for the weekend and celebrated with a big backyard bbq. Good times, indeed!

Karen,

Happy Birthday! I turned 50 in February and my family threw a surprise party for me. I received 50 gifts all wrapped in black or red and purple (since I am now officially old enough to join the Red Hat Society). My nephew had so much fun with helping finding 50 items for an "old lady" and wrapping them that he decided he wanted 12 items for his birthday in March!

I hope you have a ton of fun on your birthday!

Hi Karen,
Happy, happy birthday to you! I hope you have a fabu day!

My favorite birthday memory (so far!)was this year in June. I celebrated a "zero" birthday, and my husband threw me a surprise party that was truly a surprise! I reconnected with friends I hadn't seen in quite a while, and my close friends and family were in cahoots with my dh, and really kept the secret. It was a great birthday!

Thank you for sharing on your special day!

My fav birthday memory is when my nephew, who I rarely get to see, was here visiting for two weeks. He was seven or eight and unknown to me, asked my hubby to take him to the store to buy Aunt Kathi a present. My hubby was surprised that he didn't have to ask my nephew if he wanted to go shopping. So happily the two set off for the store. There my nephew chose the gift himself and paid with all the money he had, about three bucks. The rest came from my husband.
When I opened the gift I was flooded with so much emotion I started to cry. I have not been blessed with children and this small token of love from my nephews heart chokes me up even as I write this. When my husband told me he had nothing to do with the shopping trip and that my nephew chose the gift and paid, I started welling up with tears all over again. I miss my nephew, who is now fourteen, so much it hurts, but this memory can never be taken from me.

Happy upcoming Birthday. Your birthday is an easy one to remember as Sept 30th was also my father's birthday.

My fav b'day memory would have to be in 1985 when I found out that I was expecting my son. I got the good news from the pregnancy test (they did a pregnancy test of the blood)on my birthday. I was so excited.

Thanks for a chance to win some great goodies.

My favorite birthday memory was having my last chemo treatment for Hodgkin's disease on that day and the dr and nurses decorating the treatment room for me. By then, even they'd become family. Thanks for letting me play. I've enjoyed reading everyone's memories.

Happy early birthday and hope yours goes well. Last year I got a candy apple red kitchen aid mixer from my parents and it was wonderful! So I would have to say that was a great birthday memory and on top of that I didn't have to pay all that money to get my own...lol!

Karen,

I have many fond memories of my birthdays because I have so many wonderful friends (like you) that make all my birthdays special.
However, this year was truly the best because I turned 40 and I can say that without hesation. My husband and I bought our first and last house this year and it was my birthday present because I saw it for the first time and my husband carried me over the threshold the day before by birthday. We were suppose to arrive on my birthday but we couldn't wait so we kept driving and arrived a day early. We just moved back from Okinawa, Japan which we had been living in for the last six years. This is our retirement home. Lisa and Connie have been to the house to visit me and now I waiting on Karen to come visit me.
Love,
Kat

What a great idea! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

My favorite birthday was during my first year of marriage. I was about 7/8 months pregnant with my first baby and my husband and parents took me to my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world - Durant's. It's the one of the coolest and oldest restaurants in Phoenix. The Rat Pack used to hang out there - it has TONS of great history like that. The food was incredible and my husband gave me some beautiful diamond and tanzanite earrings. (He's not terribly romantic, so it was tough for him to buy jewelry.) We went home and my mom had baked me a yummy chocolate chip cake... it was just a yummy night.

Thanks for the blog candy contest! So fun!

One of my favorite Birthday memories was my last birthday. I was away from home, Nov.17,2006 and not going to be back home for a while. It was my first birthday spent away from my family and friends. My new friends decided to cheer me up they would have a party for me. They gave me an Orlando Bloom poster as a birthday gift. They sure made my day!

Happy Birthday to you Karen! It was so great to see you posting on PWA today and since we've been so out of touch, I just had to stroll on over here to see your blog! Nice job by the way! My favorite birthday had to be the last one,... I turned 40 and a bunch of my beadie buddies threw a suprise birthday party for me! Well, one of them accidentally included my email addy when she was posting to everyone about making a special birtday themed atc to bring to the party, boy were they all suprised when I showed up with my own birthday atc's for each of them! LOL!! One friend in particular is quite a prankster and she did suprise me though with a "rent a cop" singing telegram thing, I nearly died laughing! There is nothing better than growing older and wiser with special friends and family at your side! Hugs, Suzanne aka QueenPennywise
