BRRRRR Again!

What is up with this weather? It went down below freezing and I had to bring in the little vegetable plants that hubby has growing in small pots. Good thing he didn't plant any thing in the garden yet. I was cold and freezing by the time I got them all in the house. Of course it was raining to. I'm really looking forward to Friday. It's suppose to go up to 70. After the past week I'm looking forward to a nice calm weekend with nothing in the house breaking. Did I tell you the hot water heater also sprung a leak. Skip was able to get that changed out yesterday. Why does everything break at once? Who knows........Today is my 26th wedding anniversary. We won't be doing anything tonight to celebrate. Skip works 2nd shift so we are waiting till the weekend to celebrate. Just going to dinner and a movie.

I did have time to stamp. Love this gate fold card with the belly band closure.

Stamps: Pretty Amazing, All Year Cheer

A Fond Fairwell

I had a blast these past few days.
All things have to come to an end.
Kat and Lisa left in the wee hours of the morning at 5:20.
I didn't like to see them go, but I have to go back to work this today. Vacation is over.
BUMMER!!!
Looking forward to visiting all three of my buddies next year in TX. Lisa is the last
one to move there at the end of this year. So Connie, Lisa, and Kat will all be there.
Still working on hubby to settle in TX once we are both retired.
Hubby took this picture last night in my stamp room. We did some stamping yesterday, and made one more quick stop to Pat Catan's. I think the girls got everything they need, and then some! The card was made using a brass stencil. Kat first dry embossed it, then added the color with the new non smear pastels she bought at the craft convention. I finished it off by adding the layout, and background stamping. The girls found the ribbon on my shelf, of course they had to have some of it for there own ribbon stash. You know we just can't have to much ribbon. I think you can, but they don't agree with me. I'm learning ladies! The more ribbon the better!

Okay I need to get ready for work. Thanks again ladies for coming to visit with me. I need to just stamp this week and stay out of the kitchen. I ate so much I need to work it off this week. Love ya!!!

Stamping Convention!

We had a blast at Adventures in Stamping convention yesterday. I tried to be good, but I was weak. I got 4 sets of Nestibilities. Plus a few other little things. Angelina Fiber was another thing I had to have. Me and Kat bought 10 packs and split them. We will have fibers to last a lifetime. Lots in the packages. Picked up a lot of good ideas that I'll be sharing sometime this week. I met Bad Sherry a former dirty dozen girl on Splitcoast. She was great!!! Sherry taught me how to use some of the great new Ranger products including Grunge Board. Thanks Sherry! The tag is the one she created.

The wreath in the pic above was done using Cut N Dry. We
were all impressed with it, we all had to have some. Kat bought the stencil collection non-smear pastels in 48 colors. That was a great find! Now she will using her dry embossing stencils more. Lisa's great find was Rubber Necker Stamps. She bought wagon wheel, fence, tool box, and tools. Now she has plenty to use for making Man Cards.

So we are going to go shopping one more time this morning. We got up and did some stamping and now they are finding things in my stamp room that they need to have. So it's off to Pat Catan's again!

The Sewing Machine card is made using stamps from See-D's, and Cuttlebug embossing folder. The layout is from Mary Jo Techo

Shopping/Dinner..Recipe for FUN

Fun times again today.
Here you see Kat, and Lisa having fun searching for stamps. The stamps in these
bins are .50 each. Just look at the faces of shear JOY!

Kat taught me how to make pierogis tonight. So now not only can I make them on my own....

but I have tons of them in my freezer!

Lisa made stuffed shells for dinner. Another thing I wanted to learn how to make. YUM. Good dinner.
Earlier today on our first shopping stop. We went to the Pat Catan's store in Medina. This one lost the least so they were closing that store. Anyway....we got a large plastic shopping bag, filled it up with goodies and it only cost us 5.00!
More tomorrow. It's the big stamping convention in Akron. Looking forward to having fun there!

Day 2

Look at all the CARDS! Kat was busy! She does some awesome artwork. My favorite ones are the Beatles. We are still doing obscure holiday cards. One of the one she chose to do was 8 Track Tape Day. Remember those?
We woke up this morning had coffee, and tea. Then
it was on to the Peanut Butter/Banana Bread.
I added chocolate chips this time.
It's suppose to rain today and tomorrow, but it should be
highs of 74. No rain is going to dampen our moods!
Looking forward to having a busy day of shopping, and just
sharing some fun! And let me tell you.....with the week
I've just had....I need some R & R.
Till later!

So...Where have I've Been?

I have been having issues! The drain pipe got clogged and the basement flooded.
We had to spend the night at a hotel on Sunday cause there was no water.
So we got that fixed.
I'm cleaning like mad cause my friends are coming to visit, and the power shut off.
Now the water heater is leaking. So we will have to replace that.
I stopped at the gas station this morning and lost my ATM card. So I had to call the bank and cancel that.

Good News! Friends are here. So I'm sharing some pics from today's adventure to Hollo's
so......249.35 later.....Kat won! We are just looking at the cart and laughing at how high it is.
Did I tell you that this is only one of the carts she had. Yes there were two shopping. Carts.
We came home and had dinner, then decided to also go and hit my favorite store Pat Catan's.
There was also lots of damage done at that store.
Tomorrow we will be going to Archivers, and some other local craft stores.
Connie we all miss you! Wish you could have come on the trip also.
Enjoy that new house of yours.
More pictures tomorrow.
Oh.....I have TONS of new cards!!!! I'll be sharing those with you also. Some will be on tomorrow's blog news.

Techno Challenge # 13

This card took me all of 12 minutes to make. I woke
up at 6 this morning, and I just felt like stamping!
Something I never do during the weekday morning
cause I have to get ready and go to work.
Techno Challenge sketch.
I started with the new Cuttlebug folder. The one with the seashell.
Next I grabbed SU Beautiful Beach stamp set.
The seashell Cuttlebug folder I used cardstock weight vellum.
I like the effect it gave to the card.
Colors: Mellow Moss, So Saffron, and Bordering Blue
This colors just give the card a nice soft look.
Last I added a clear tag that I added some fibers to.
Maybe I should stamp more often in the morning?
This just came so easy for me to do.
Okay I really gotta go..........

OMG! It's Wednesday!...................

........................................And I haven't posted anything since Sunday! Oh no! You all must think I have taken a long vacation from stamping! Not true of course. I've been sorta busy with things around the house and organizing the stamp room again! If you remember I shared with you that my bestest friends were coming to visit me on the 24th of this month. So excited! Wish my other bestest friend could also come visit but she is busy closing on the new house her and hubby bought. But I regress. I'm still taking about why I haven't been stamping. The friends are coming and the house is a mess! I've been taking some time to do some spring cleaning. With the full time day job the house is still not going to be ready. Sorry girls.....please don't look for dust bunnies when you come visit cause you won't have to search very hard. Faint The smiley guy is how I feel right now....falling over from shear exhaustion.

Now let me share with you what I did manage to find time to stamp today.

This is Kat and Lisa last year. Kat was living in Japan and Lisa went to visit. That's when this pic was taken. I covered a small white clip board that I got from Archivers with paper that Kat picked up for me while living in Japan. Stamp set is from See-Dee's. The square brad in the corner was a perfect fit for the stamp design.

Okay got to sign off for now. It's getting late and past my bedtime.

Mother's Day Projects

Yet another great idea from Mary Jo
She is just awesome! I made the triangle box using the tutorial
on her blog.
I've also been playing with the build a brad kit. For the wheel on the card I just stamped the image
then added the clear dome on top to the base brad. For the triangle box I stamped
Canvas background to vanilla cardstock, punched out with 1/2 punch. This punch
is the perfect size for the brad. Glued the circle to the brad base. Next I used linen
thread and tied a knot in the button and used a glue dot to
adhere the button on top of the brad base.
You can also emboss the clear dome that come with the build a brad set
I'll have a sample to show that later today or tomorrow.
Right now I'm off to visit mom.

Techno Challenge #12

I'm a little late this week on getting Techno
Monday's Challenge finished. Check out Mary's Jo site
for more great cards using this sketch
Stamp Set: Pun Fun, Paisley Background
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, and watercolor paper
Ink: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Jet Black StazOn
Accessories: pop dots, markers, prima flowers, gold brads
I colored the hippo first. Then stamped another image of the hippo colored with Basic Grey Ink, cut out the head and body then attached to the stamped image using pop dots.

I haven't been feeling well the past two days. Don't know what is wrong with me. I've been getting dizzy, and my stomach just doesn't feel right. Hoping that I'll balance out soon. It's the weekend and I'm looking forward to staying up late and stamping.

Excited about a new spin off TV show from Doctor Who. This one is called Sarah Jane Adventures. It's cool! Sarah Jane is a character from the 70's on the first running of Doctor Who. I remember her when she was a rider with the Doctor when she was 19. Looks like it will be a fun show. If you want to check it out it's on Friday nights on the Sci-Fi channel at 7:30

Waxy Cuttlebug Card Revisted.

I had stamped two of these. Since I had one I decided to just go for it
and color it differently. I'm much happier with this one.
The flower is colored using Lovely Lilac marker.

Just want to send a personal message to my friend Geoff. "Thinking about you" and saying a little prayer. You'll be fine.

Thank goodness the week is almost over. It's been a long one. Since this is my last training class at work I think it's just adding to the weekend taking longer to get here.

Waxy Cuttlebug

This is my first attempt at the Waxy Cuttlebug Technique.
Stamp sets: From the Garden, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Twist Spectrum pad, Jet Black StazOn
Cardstock: glossy white, Lovely Lilac, Whisper White
Accessories: markers, So Saffron, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Green Galore
wax paper, brayer, iron, ribbon, craft knife, Cuttlebug, folder
I didn't like the way the ribbon on the bottom of the card hid one of the petals on
the flower so I used a craft knife to cut one of the petals the put the ribbon
under it.
I like this technique. I'll need to play with it some more.
Glad I had some time to stamp this evening. I also did just a tiny bit of cleaning. I needed to de-stress after today at work. All I can say is.....I'll be glad when next week rolls around and I don't have a training class. Sometimes training can be challenging. Especially when the people you are training are lacking in computer skills.

Rejected

I submitted this card to a magazine last year. Just
got it back today. They couldn't use it.
Bummer!
Oh well now I get to share it with you
On the inside of the card: I was tangled up
I thought it was cute.
The words were typed up in Word using Stampin'Up! font CD

I had every intention to come home and stamp. I have a new technique from the TJ that I really want to try out, but after a long day at work I just couldn't pull it together to stamp last night.
Hopefully I feel up to it later today.

Simple Card

Very simple card today. I cased this from a craft magazine. I added
my own touch to it.
I'm not sure where the designer paper came from. Think it was
in some bulk paper that I received from a friend. The image
was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink, then I cut the dress
and layered it just to give it a splash of color
Just got my last order in from Bella
Love these stamps! Such fun to play with
The little cherry on top of the cupcake was punched with Ruby Red then I used
Red Stickles to bling it up a bit.
Had to make a matching envy to. Don't know why I don't
decorate envelopes anymore. Need to do that more often.
We had a beautiful weekend. Sunny and warm 65 degrees. It was so nice I took mom outside yesterday and wheeled her around the nursing home. The sun felt so good. Mom really enjoyed it.
I have to get ready for work. Happy Monday!!!!

Two of Me

Recently there was a submission call and the theme was
"Two of Me"
Although I didn't take that call I've been wanting to take that challenge
Cardstock: So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue, and Very Vanilla
Ink: More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue, Old Olive
Stamp Set: Garden Whimsy
Accessories: slit punch, pop dots, sponge daubers, markers Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red
Basic Black, lunch bag, Coluzze cutting system with circle template, gold brads
window punch

How the Flower Frame was made: Cut So Saffron to 5x5 square, lay the circle template on top of this piece. Cut out a circle using the third circle from the outer edge of the circle template. Snip the circle out. Next insert the slit punch into the circle and punch all the way around the circle. The object is to make a frame not to punch out a circle so leave just a little bit of space in between each punch. I then pierced the center of each petal, and curved them towards the center of the frame with a bone folder. To make the petals stand out I sponged More Mustard ink on each of them.
Cut Very Vanilla to 5 x 5 square. Stamp images in the center. These will show though the Flower Frame. Next turn the Flower frame over and add pop dots to the corners. Adhere the frame on top of the Very Vanilla piece. Layer this over 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 Close to Cocoa square. Then last step layer on top of 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Bordering Blue base card.
The bag is a lunch bag that was cut down an bit and cardstock adhered to the front and back. I cut the back piece longer than the front so I could fold it down over the bag. The Bordering Blue scallop was also made using the slit punch.

Gotta run......I need to get dressed and visit mom

Anyway....
Glad the weekend is finally here!
Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree, Linen Background
Colors: Old Olive, Ruby Red, White
I got some new Cuttlebug folders that I haven't used yet

Hoping to get lots done this week. 19 days and a wake up till my friends come to visit me. Lisa and Kathy are going to come visit for a few days. We plan to shop, stamp, shop, stamp, maybe get some food. The Akron Stamping Convention is that week so we also plan to attend that on Saturday. Can't wait girls!!!!!

Techno Challenge 11

YAY! Hubby is back on second shift so I can actually use the computer!
I made this card yesterday for Mary Jo's Monday Techno Challenge.
You can view her site at technostamper.blogspot.com
After reading about Mary Jo's card I decided to also use the small
Cuttle bug folders that come 4 in a pack. I have tons of them,
and have I ever used them? No! The center of the
card is an small folder. I ran it though using white
then took a red marker the make the embossing pop. I did the same
thing with the other two squares. Just used the red marker on the hearts.
Cardstock: Real Red, Creamy Caramel, White, and Old Olive

Just a little hit when using the small folders. I cut the squares to size I needed for the card 2x2, but when I put it in the folder the cardstock kept sliding out. So I put the cardstock in the folder closed it up and then used painters tape to hold the folder closed till I ran it through the machine. Worked like a charm.
