Pleated Halloween Card

Well I finally got my spiderweb doilies that were on back order.

I wanted to make at least one Halloween card with them before Halloween

was over.

This is a pleated skirt fold. I cut the designer paper on a angle then scored several

times to get a pleated look.

I then took the part that was cut from the designer paper to decorate

inside the card. Stamps are from Ink-a-dink-do.

I wanted to also share a few photos from the Halloween party we went to last week.

This is a kitty litter cake that I refused to even try. Although the braves

souls who did eat it thought it was great. Looked to real for me. The baker

used a cat box and a pooper scooper to serve it. She also used tooties rolls that

were heated in the micro-wave then molded and shaped to look like cat poo. YUCK!

Foggy punch that was made with orange sherbet ginger ale and

orange juice. Chad used dry ice to make it foggy. Was very good.

loved the dip coming out of the pumpkin mouth.

Creepy decor.

Me and Becca dressed in the same time period clothing. Of

course she was sticking her tongue out. Silly girl.

Arggggggggggggggg

And the pirate ordering pizza over the phone! LOL

Happy Halloween!!!!

I'll be dressing up later to hand out the goodies to the kiddies.

Witch Hat Treat Bag

I played around with some new things yesterday afternoon.

The witch hat clip was made with black glimmer paper, and uses

just punches to make. The tree punch, bow builder punch, 2 1/2, and 1 inch

circle punches.

Pumpkin and jack-o-lantern face is from Sparkly Seasons stamp set.
The bag is made with the mini treat bag thinlit

Here is a close up of the hat.

Inside view shows that the hat is glued to a mini clothes pin.

I was so happy yesterday morning because I went grocery shopping.

You may think that is pretty dull, but for me it was wonderful!

I was able to take my time and shop. I walked through the entire

store without being in pain! In the words of Dr. Who....Fantastic!

I had to keep telling hubby that I can't believe how well I'm walking!

On Monday it was 5 weeks since the knee replacement.

Next Wednesday the 4th of Nov. (can you believe its almost Nov?)

I have my post op appointment.

Revlon Doll

I have one last birthday gift to share.

This lovely Revlon doll was a join present from

my friends Connie, and Lisa.

Connie told me they purchased her from Ebay and gave her

a visit to "their doll hospital" to get her cleaned up,

and get a hair do.

Here is a back view. Love those curls!

They of course also made her dress.

I'm going to raid my jewelry box and make her a necklace.

The girls also told me they have more clothes patterns for her that

they will send to me, so I can make more outfits. Can't wait!

Thanks so much ladies for such a thoughtful birthday gift.

I know you put in a lot of work, and time to get my doll ready to give to me.

Paper Pumpkin October

Back with another card idea using October's Paper Pumpkin kit.

I stamped the flower on the base card then added color

using Calypso Coral ink with a blender pen.

You will laugh when I tell you this, but I used one of the base cards in the kit

which I believe is Hello Honey, but I turned it inside out as

I wanted a white base card.

Since there are also envelopes in the kit had

to stamp one of those to!

Mailable Monday # 127

I received October' Paper Pumpkin last week and

decided to use it for today's edition of Mailable Monday.

Just was quick stamping was all I needed to create the card.

The watercolor background look was already done for me.

See at the top left corner where the small flower is perched on the larger flower?

That I did because I didn't ink the stamp fully and had a bare spot on the

larger flower. Great cover up if I do say so myself!

Cookies, and a Pirate

I made Pumpkin Spice leaf cookies on Friday.

The cookies were then frosted with Maple icing and

sandwiched together. YUM!

Love love love the cookie press!

I needed orange food coloring to tint the batter so

I used red, and yellow (leftover from Sarah's bridal shower)

to make orange. So glad I remembered what colors mixed together

make what from art class. Now I'm going back to art class

I had in elementary school!

What I need to do is order more disks for my cookie press.

We had a great time at cousin David's Halloween party last night.

We didn't stay as long as we wanted as my knee was bothering me.

I did post photos on Facebook if you want to check them out, but

I'll also post some here on the blog.

Skip dressed up as a pirate. He let his facial hair grow

for a week and a half!

I wore one of costumes Sarah made. We made a great couple!

Goodie Box

Earlier this week I received an awesome

goodie box from my friend Kat.

One of the goodies was this cool Halloween set.

Came with some stamps and a matching coffin die.

I folded the black cardstock and placed the die so that

it would leave the side uncut. That way the coffin could

open and show the greeting.

Thanks Kat! You made my week!

Me and hubby get to dress up and go to a Halloween party later today.

To bad that its raining now and most likely will rain all day,

but I guess the rain will make the party more eerie!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 102315

Its Sketch Frenzy Friday!

For this card I used Woodlands embossing folder which

was inked with Bermuda Bay ink.

Base card Early Espresso, layer very vanilla.

I used some retired wooden leaves that I also inked with

Bermuda Bay, and......

I have the blue fingers to prove it. LOL

Be sure to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog for more great cards.

Wedding Photos

Sarah sent me photos that were took at the wedding.

We haven't got them all back from the photographer as

they are still being edited.

Sarah loves black and white photos so some of them will

be done that way. Love this staircase shot!

Love the look on Jason face in this one. Some of the photos were

taking at Hinckly Lake.

This is my favorite staircase shot.

Now this one I know took a lot o editing as it was

taken in my craft room in front of the window.

Mom and daughter before the wedding.

Happy couple.

I'll post some more later this week.

Trees Behind the Trees

Back with another Woodlands embossing folder card.

I like how you can add ink right on the debossed side of the

folder and also stamp before running the cardstock through the big shot.

I used a paint brush to add some dazzling details to the birch trees and

the snow bank. Also got to use the new snowflake punch.

Here is a close up view of the snowflake. I took the largest one crumpled it

up in my hand then pulled apart the cardstock so I had two.

I also crumpled up the smaller flake and layered them all together.

I was going for a light fluffy snowflake. Finished

it off with some silver thread behind the flake and a rhinestone in the center.

Happy that I'm able to play with some of my new stamping toys!

More Birthday Gifts to Share

I wanted to share with you a card and gift my

daughter Sarah gave me for my birthday.

She know how I love the Wizard of Oz, and the card

went perfectly with the gift.

Love the design of this Vera Bradly clutch.

Sarah said I needed a new one. So who am I to argue with that?

I also needed to share a photo of my 300 plus dollar SU

order that hubby got me for my birthday/pain relief.

I'm just now getting to the point where I can sit at my craft desk

long enough to enjoy stamping again.

Mailable Monday # 126

Well I'm more than upset with Stampin'Up! right now.

The spider web doilies that are in the Holiday mini catalog are on

back order and will not arrive till after Halloween.

I did find some black doilies at Pat Catan's that I used

on today's mailable Monday card.

Cardstock colors: Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Black, and Hello Honey.

Stamp set Among the Branches. I also used Woodlands embossing folder which

was also back ordered, but I received the one I ordered on Saturday.

Remember that snow on Saturday that Skip wouldn't admit was snow?

When we got up on Sunday morning there was a layer of it on the grass.

Of course it melted pretty fast, but dear hubby finally called it what it was.

That dirty four letter word....SNOW

Cards from Friends, the Garden, Skip and Snow

Happy Sunday.

I'm going to be posting some photos that I've got on file that

I had not got around to posting.

Card on the left made my my friend Marianne, and card on the right done by Kat.

This card made by another friend Connie.

Thanks for the wonderful cards girls.

Last of the stuff from the garden. Well not really the last as

Skip was still bringing in zucchini last week.

The watermelon appeared from nowhere. It must have

been a plant that grew from the compose heap. Skip cut it

open and said it wasn't any good, and it was the only one on the vine.

We didn't get many tomatoes although I froze 12 bags of them.

They were good.

So yesterday me and Skip went to Costco. It was cold. Started to snow.

Skip says its not snow its just road dust. Doesn't count as it melted

as soon as it hit the windshield.

Later we went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. Coming home from Medina snowing

again as we were coming out of the restaurant. Skip goes its not snowing.

Its just radioactive fallout we are being attacked. Again the snow it not sticking, and melting

on impact.

We get home. I get out of the van. I tell him again its snowing look at

my hair...there is white flakes on it. He stops and looks and goes.....

that is not snow you have dandruff. Yep its going to be a very long

Winter!!!!!!!

Wine Cork Angels

I'm back with more angels.

This time I used some wine corks.

The lace burlap twine is leftover from Sarah's wedding decor.

I just tied the ribbon into a bow and glued on the back of the cork to make the wings.

I made a loop from jute to make the hanger/halo. This

one was made with a strip of burlap ribbon for the wings.

I added bows at the neckline for both then just added some embellishments to the center.

I'm planning to make more using the in line lace ribbon. I think the

mustard colored ribbon would look great for a halo.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 101615

It was my turn once again to come up with a sketch for the group.

I used some retired Halloween paper from SU, and stamps

from the September Paper Pumpkin kit.

I actually like this card, and I loved the kit from Paper Pumpkin.

Here are some other things I made with that kit.

The treat bag on the left is the 3d item in the kit.

Love the greeting on the tag...Eat Me if you dare! How fun!.

Of course when I got this kit I was in the hospital with the knee replacement.

Hubby brought it to me so I could see the kit. The first thing I saw when

I looked at the fringe bags was cousin IT from The Adams Family.

Now that is showing my age!  I made It's glasses with the 1 1/4 circle punch then

just trimmed them a bit.

The hat was made with the ovals collection thinlits and was trimmed

along the sides and the brim is a strip of cardstock that was also trimmed a bit at the

ends.

And how cute is this card? Again I used the stamps from the kit.

Background is the brick wall folder with Hello Honey cardstock .

The leaf at the bottom is from a button pack I got at Pat Catans.

Don't forget to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog for more card ideas

using my sketch.

Christmas Box full of Cards

Hmm...not Christmas but I got this pretty Christmas box for my birthday.

Plus it was completely stuffed with cards!

Thanks Kat!

I have PT this morning. After this session I only have next week left.

I'll meet with the therapist and decide then if I need additional PT.

I'm thinking I might as I still have trouble standing up from chairs, and

then there are the steps that I need to concur. Need to be able to go up and

down the stair case correctly.

Making Spirits Bright Box

This cute little treat box was made using a acetate card box that

I picked up at Hollo's paper store. I cut the box in half and

was able to make two purse/boxes from it. If you check the blog last

week you will be able to see the Halloween one that I made.

Stamp set is Making Spirits Bright. I colored it

with Daffodil Delight blendabilites, and Old Olive blendies.

The candy cane was colored with Real Red marker, as was the berries.

Closer view of the coloring.

I went to PT yesterday morning.

I can now extend my leg to 1 which is almost perfect. They want

you to extend it to 0. The knee can bend to 121 which is also very good.

Now if I can just get the pain to go away it would be perfect!

Keith Clan

My sister in law Cheryl brought me these items

to use one the photo table we had set up at Sarah's wedding.

This is the Keith Clan tartan, shield and clan motto.

The motto is Truth Conquers. Animal the Stag, and
the flower is the White Rose. I'm smiling at that as
the White Rose was the symbol of Bonnie Prince Charlie the
pretender to the throne. The Keith Clan were
Jacobites, and supported the Bonnie Prince.
Love learning about all the history behind my clan.
Goes right along with the Outlander books that I am so fond of.
