Mailable Monday # 141

Today's card features Grateful Bunch stamp set.

Its a "totally" no layer card.

The flower was inked with Basic Gray then stamped on Wisteria Wonder cardstock.

Image was then hand cut out.

I stamped the flower again on Daffodil Delight and used the 1/4 inch circle punch to

the center then popped that over the wisteria flower. The leaves were stamped on Pear

Pizzazz and hand cut.

Here is a inside view of the card. Flowers inked with wisteria wonder,

and the leaves done with pear pizzazz.

We had a "totally" (I know I'm using that word a lot today)

awesome warm yesterday! Hubby even took out the grill and made some brats.

Gotta love it when its in the 60's and we are still in February, and

speaking of February welcome to the end of it! Happy Leap Year!!!!

Fold a Long Mason Jar Card

Well I had fun yesterday. Got out the house and went to

Pat Catan's to do some shopping. One

of the things I bought was this cool thinlit Fold-a-Long card by Sizzix.

I used the silver foil to make the lid of the mason jar.

The belly band I made using designer paper, and the little

rosette is made with the outside lace part of a paper doily.

Oh I also used Timeless Textures stamp set with Marina Mist ink

to add some stamping to the jar.

And here is the inside view. Cuppa stamp set and the matching thinlits used for

the jar. Since it is a Mother's Day card I added the little cup. Kinda

like Mrs. Pots, and Chip from Beauty and Beast that is what my inspiration came from.

Colors used Marina Mist, Basic Gray, Smokey Slate, and Blushing Bride.

I couldn't update the blog on Saturday due to my camera battery died, and I couldn't find

the charger. I looked all over for it and finally found it in the upstairs craft room.

Not much going on today. I do have to go hit the grocery store not a fun chore, but has

to be done. Suppose to be warm today in the 60's so I'll enjoy just being out.

February Paper Pumpkin Alternate Card

Well I figured out a way to use the negative space from the rose sticker in

this months Paper Pumpkin kit.

See the white going around the gold pieces? Well that is the remains of the white

sheet that the rose is attached to. After lifting the swirly part off (I'll show you what I

did with that in tomorrow's post) I used

blue painters tape and stuck it across the remaining gold pieces. Had to use two strips

because the tape wasn't wide enough. Anyway....I was able to lift off all those

separate pieces and stick them to the cherry cobbler layer.

My goofy cat Cherokee wants to take over John's laundry hamper.

She loves to play in it. Guess I'll have to get her one, or come up with a new

toy for her. I saw somewhere on Pinterest that t-shirt was wrapped around a

cardboard box then the neck hole was how the cat got in and out of it.

May have to make one of those.
Okay my friends just need to stop getting sick. Kat got back from her trip on Monday,
and she is sick now.  Everybody get well and stay that way please! Sending warm fuzzies to all!

Someone has been messing with my Magnets

My friend Connie made me this darling little tin years ago.

It has magnets on the back and is stuck to the side of the fridge.

Inside the tin are lots of little magnetic words.

While the family was over on Sunday someone or someones

got into the little tin and left me a message.

I found it on Monday while I was cleaning up.

If I had to guess I'd have to say it was my nephew Corbet.

First I asked Skip if he left it. He didn't know the tin had words in it.

All these years on the fridge and he didn't know that?

When I asked John he didn't admit to it, but also said that there wasn't enough words

to select from. So I'm thinking he watch from the side lines while Corbet spelled it out.

Let see if he reads this and fesses up.

Tin Flowered Watering Can

I am late posting. Just forgot to set up the blog post for today.

I know shame on me!

Found some more stuff in my crafting stash to decorate.

Perfect for Spring (it will get here soon, it will get here soon)

this little metal watering can.

I used the Botanical thinlits along with Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla, Black, and

Garden Green cardstock for the flower pieces.

The plant poke is Crumb Cake using From the Garden stamp set and matching

thinlits. I also found some cut pieces of crochet trim from a long ago stamp camp

and tied those around the handle.

To finish it off I added some pearls to the flower centers.

I really have to start "shopping" in my craft room before running to the store

to buy more things........right?

Okay I'm off to write up tomorrows post before I'm late again!

Birthday Early

No Mailable Monday card today. I'll be back next week with a new card.

Yesterday we had the family over and celebrated

Skip's birthday. Its a bit early as his birthday is this Friday.

I made a very large crockpot full of meatballs, sausage, and sauce.

The spaghetti was great. Well not as good as Skip's mom's as she made

the best, but mine was close.

Sarah got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for her dad.

Instead of putting on the normal happy birthday she opted for the Brown's

we all got a good laugh out of it.

Birthday boy blowing out the candles. Only put on 5 didn't want to melt the cake

with putting on 59 of them. You are looking great for 59 honey.

Time for Tea

I used Cuppa, and Timeless Textures stamp set to create this card.

Colors: Pool Party, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay.

Used a mini staple to attach the white thread to the tea bag.

Both the main image, and accessories were hand cut out.

I have a little tip. I wasn't getting good coverage with the large polymer tea cup stamp.

Try as I might when I inked and stamped there were bare places that didn't pick up the ink.

So I took a sanding block and lightly sanded the stamp in both directions.

When I inked again I got great coverage. I used to use this trick on bold image wood block stamps,

I hadn't tried it on polymer. Happy that I got good results.

Sending out get well wishes to my dear friend Connie. Just found out yesterday that

she has been very under the weather. Get well card is in the mail for you Connie.

Hope you are feeling better soon! Love ya.

Beautiful Ride

First before I forget....I have to post a retraction. The time does

not go forward this Sunday. In fact the time does not change until

March 13th. Thanks to my friend Kat for pointing this out to me.

You know I shouldn't believe everything I read on facebook. Someone posted

the time change as this Sunday and silly me I didn't bother to verify it.

Okay speaking of Kat...I hope you have a very safe and fun trip while driving to

visit your friend Debbie today. I made this card with you in mind. Stamp

set is called Beautiful Ride. I just love this car!!! Reminds me of the 70's.

Now Kat after you are finished visiting Debbie just jump in the van

and continue on your way to Ohio, and bring some of that warm Texas air to me. We need

it here.

Beautiful Window Box

I made the flower box with the window frame thinlit die.

The flowers and greenery are from the new Large Letters stamp set.

To make the flower box stand out a bit I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

The banner was actually and afterthought. I thought the corner was to

bare and plain. Now I'm wondering if the banner is distracting away from the flower box.

Go figure! I think a crafter is never really happy with there art. There is always something

else that could have been done better.

I also got my paper pumpkin kit for February yesterday.

So I sat right down and made one card from the kit.

I have to really get my act together and get the house cleaned up as the family

is coming over on Sunday for dinner. We are celebrating a few things. Skip's upcoming birthday,

and my nephew's engagement. What I really need is swift kick in the pants to get me

out of this rut I've been in. So thankful that the time is changing this weekend. Maybe some

extra daylight will help.

Red Tulips, and Snow

Skip bought me some red tulips. So Spring, and I'm ready for it.

Woke up yesterday morning to 6 inches of snow.

Good news is that its warming up this week, so its going to melt.

So pretty! We even saw a robin in the yard a few days ago so we are getting closer

to the end of Winter.

Hubby drinking his morning coffee. Do you think the mug is big enough?

I tease him and tell him that the mug holds half of the coffee pot, so it only leaves

me with one cup.

Our back deck. It is a wet heavy snow.

Skip had to run the snow thrower, but the schools weren't closed.

The snow looked so pretty stuck to the trees.

View from my kitchen table.

and Cherokee. I know she is happy to be nice and toasty warm in the house. No snow for her.

Butterfly on the Wing

Back with another shabby chic card. The butterfly, and layer die cut was

sent to me by my friend Kat.

I added some wink of Stella to the cardstock vellum overlay but I don't think it will show

up on the photo.

Green designer paper layer is from Botanical Blooms paper pack.

This one of my favorite stamp set greetings. The words are vintage looking

and go great on shabby chic cards. Picked this up years ago at Pat Catan's when they

were selling the sets for one dollar. What a deal.

Playing with more Die Cut Layers

Another card made with die cut layers that Kat sent me.

I used Botanical Blooms stamp set and the matching framelits.

This sympathy card is done in shades of black and white.

The lower corner is stamped with Timeless Textures stamp set.

Inside view.

Still very cold here. Been in the teens. I did venture out yesterday but only

because I just had to do the grocery shopping. Going

to try to go out today and visit Pat Catan's.

I have a pork roast that I put in the crockpot this morning, and I'm making

Skip his favorite....peanut butter cookies. Thought I'd make him a nice dinner for

Valentines Day.

Grunge Butterfly Card

My friend Kat sent me some die cuts she made using Tim Holtz dies.

Love the grunge texture.

I used Butterfly Basics with neutral colors.

The base card was stamped with the largest flower stem with Early Espresso.

I like how parts of the flower can be seen through the die cuts.

For the background I used Timeless Textures stamp set.

The large butterfly is done with Island Indigo.

Remember how I said I was using stuff from my stash that I

haven't used for some time?  I found the black head bead pin in that stash and

wove it in the center of the butterfly.

Thanks Kat for sending me such fun stuff to play with. You'll

be seeing more of it posted on the blog.

Chick on a Mini Cup and Card

Happy Friday, and a good Honeycomb Happiness to you!

Told you I would be back with another edition of this fun stamp set.

I used the honeycomb thinlit die with Botanical Blooms designer paper.

The chick was stamped on the designer paper and adhered to the mini cup.

The plant poke came from the set From the Garden.

Have to admit I didn't use the honeycomb die much because it was hard to attach with

that very narrow border around the edges, but now I can use the fine tip glue and

it works so much better. Don't think it shows up on the photo, but I added some clear

wink of Stella around the edges. Have to admit I was a little heavy handed on the glue and

got some on the card front that showed, so the wink of Stella was a great cover up!

We got lots more snow, but still not enough to close the schools, not in our area anyway.

Skip said the Medina school were closed.

Ladybugs for Valentine's Day

I took a break from Honeycomb Happiness and remembered

that Valentine's day is just a few days away.

I use a combination of circle, and scallop circle punches to make these fun ladybugs.

The greeting is "hugs and kisses", but I did a strike out on the "h", and

used a red marker to print the "b" for bugs and kisses.

The black circles on the wings were made with a new pencil eraser and black ink.

I love this little mini coffee cup with the ladybug sitting on top.

Designer paper band is from Stacked with Love paper pack from last year's catalog.

I'll be back tomorrow with another mini coffee cup for Easter. Found the cups

while going through my 3d stash. I have no idea why I'm hording my stamping supplies.

They are meant to be used, so that is what I'm going do!

Honeycomb Happiness Trio

Since I have been organizing my stamping studio I'm

finding things that I haven't used.

The designer paper is from Basic Gray. The collage stamp, and peep! stamps

are unknown, but I thought they were cute. What I really need

is some Easter greeting stamps. I can't believe I don't have any.

The chick is from Honeycomb Happiness. This cutie was inked with black

then stamped on confetti white cardstock. The color was added with Daffodil Delight

blendies. Before popping the chick on the card I added some white thread loops.

In my stash I also found this clear plastic paint bucket.

Thought it would be a perfect little Easter basket.

The shredded paper I made myself with designer paper, paper crimper, and fringe scissors.

Here is a top view of the lid. I haven't closed the can up yet as I want to add

a few more goodies. I carried over the string on this topper also.

I used gingham ribbon on the handle so to tie it all in I used the same ribbon on the lid chick,

and I removed the purple ribbon that came on the chick toy and replaced it with the gingham ribbon.

Something about Spring just makes me think of gingham ribbon. Must be from my childhood.

And to complete this little set I made a coaster. The complete chipboard coaster was

ran though the Xyron 510.

I've been having fun with the chick from Honeycomb Happiness. Be back tomorro

with another project using it.

Honeycomb Happiness Chick with Bunny Ears

Honeycomb Happiness is such a cute stamp set.

Its one of the free sets being offered by SU as part of SAB.

The chick was stamped on Daffodil Delight cardstock, then colored

in with Daffodil Delight blendibilites.

The bunny ears were punched with white cardstock and the small oval punch.

I colored the center ear with a pink marker.

Here is a side view. I first stamped the chick on white cardstock.

The completed color chick was fussy cut and popped over the image.

The feet and beak were colored with Tangerine Tango marker.

We had snow yesterday. So pretty to watch the flakes fall.

View from our backyard. Its nice when you know you don't have

to go out anywhere. I was content to stay inside and stamp.

I've been stamping away with Honeycomb Happiness so be sure to check

back tomorrow as I have some more projects to post.

Mailable Monday #140

First just let me say YAY Denver! So happy they won yesterday.

It was a good game, but I thought the halftime show was the worse I've ever

seen! The only good part of it was the brief flashback of when the shows were good.

This one layer card features Just for You Botanical. I inked the greeting

with Early Espresso. Flowers colors Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, and leaves

Garden Green.

I dotted the center of the flowers with dazzling diamonds details.

I spent some time yesterday adding ink to my ink pads.

They were very thirsty, and sucked up lots of re-inkers,

The pads feel heavy now since I added the ink. Guess I'll be

adding re-inkers to my next order!

Shabby Chic Sewing Card

While I'm still organizing, and labeling the stamping studio

I did find time to stamp yesterday evening.

I combined two different stamp sets to make this card.

Victorian Dressmaker which is a See-D's stamp set, and Vintage Threads

made by TPC Studio. Since I'm organizing I thought it would be a good

idea to group like sets together, so all the sewing sets now together.

The designer paper is a SAB selection called Perfectly Artistic. I love the paper

because it reminds me of the shaving cream technique. You get that great swirled

look without the mess and the smell.

I used Basic Gray ink for the stamping and added a small background piece of

Tempting Turquoise that was embossed with two different folders.
So we didn't make it to the garden show as planned yesterday. We decided to go wait and
go next weekend. Instead we saw a movie The Finest Hours. It was an excellent movie!
Chris Pine was wonderful. Such a heart warming story based on a true story.
Today it is all about football. I'm rooting for Denver, but the boys in my family say NC will win.
Won't have to cook as Skip wants pizza. I'll be happy that football season is over. Means Spring
is on the way. Going to be a very warm 47 today, but we will be back to cold and snow by Tuesday.
Think I'll be heading out to Pat Catan's today. I have another thing I want do in the craft room, and
it requires a craft store run. Lucky me!!!! Anytime I can craft shop is a good day.

Paper Pumpkin Mini Binder

Still organizing. This is my Paper Pumpkin binder.

I used an Avery mini binder that I found at Wal-Mart.

I used a retired SU designer paper pack for the cover. I thin its

called Apple Cider. Used the dymo label maker on the binding.

Of course I had to carry over the designer paper to the inside.

I like that the Avery mini binder pages are the perfect size for the paper pumpkin

instruction sheets.

I did a little mixing and matching with page protectors as I didn't like

trying to fish out the stamps with the longer protectors. Instead I used

the pocket pages from Project Life. Used the label maker again to label everything.

Very happy with it. The mini binder pages also leave some room to add

leftover pieces from the kits.

Hubby and me are off to the Home and Garden show today. So I'm sure I'll have pictures to post

on Sunday.
